CPR and First Aid

I attended a CPR and First Aid class conducted by the American Red Cross today. There was numerous teachers or prospective teachers in the class getting their required training. Do you find it odd that teachers are required to be trained and not parents? it’s probably a good idea for you to be trained in CPR and First Aid also if you have kids.
