Civil 3D 2010 – ANZ Content Pack

In the new version of Civil 3D you are able to install content packs. I looked at the UK and Ireland Content Pack in my last post. In this post I’ll explore some of the extra tools that come with the ANZ Content Pack (Australia and New Zealand).

The 2D to 3D Contours Conversion takes 2D polylines and assigns an elevation to them.

The surface analysis tools are handy to transfer surface elevation analysis from surface to surface and from one drawing to another.

Convert Blocks to COGO Points takes blocks and creates points from the insertion points.

I didn’t have a drawing available that I could tryout the Drawing Frame Grid to Viewport, so I’m not quite sure of what it does. It does sound good though.

This post looks suspiciously familiar.

Hi these are grate tutorials but I would like to ask you if you could help me with the set up for New Zealand standards. I mean the steps taken to have it running in accordance with New Zealand standards. We just receive this package and I installed it but once it is opened, We have this massage saying:
NOTE:
Make sure to browse to the ANZ folder for the last step in the Intersection Wizard
• The default Kerb Returns are for Right Hand Drive
• This template uses Left Hand Drive for ANZ
• If the standard (US) templates are used, RHD assemblies will be applied to Kerb Returns going in the LHD direction so the intersection will have major flaws.
I really don’t know what that means as I have never used civil 3d before.
Thank you.

It means you drive on the wrong side of the road. Just kidding. In the US we drive on the right side of the road and in New Zealand you drive on the left. Since stationing for a curb return goes in the direction of travel the curb returns will be backwards if you use the US templates. It's new in Civil 3D 2010 so you are not alone in it being new.

To answer your question when you use the intersection template there is an ability to change the template used, and it appears to default to the US. Make sure you change the template to the New Zealand one. It should be in the same general location as the default US one.
